Recipe
Ingredients
-
1 lemon
-
8 apple(about 3 pounds), peeled and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
-
1/2 cup dried cherries
-
1 cup sugar
-
1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding and pie filling mix
-
3 cups reduced fat (2%) milk
-
2 packages (10 ounces each ) Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Shells, prepared according to package directions
Directions
Grate 1/2 teaspoon zest from the lemon. Stir the apples, cherries, sugar and lemon zest in a 4-quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or until the apples are tender.
Beat the pudding mix and milk in a medium bowl with a whisk for about 2 minutes or until the mixture is thickened.
Divide the apple mixture among the pastry shells. Top with the pudding mixture.
Flavor Variation: You can try substituting other flavors of pudding for the vanilla, such as lemon or even cheesecake!
